A widower who is bored with his retirement takes a job as an intern in an Internet startup company. Everybody wins.

This is a nice, engaging role for De Niro, who does NOT come in as the all-knowing senior-type we see too much, nor do they portray him as a fish out of water, floundering about; they do manage to strike a balance here. Hathaway, while great as the empowered woman who is destroying her family to get what she wants, is a bit bland, but maybe that’s OK for this film; a shrieking harridan would not have worked here. And this looks good; great sets and scenery always help.

I thought it went on a bit too much in some scenes and one sub-plot seemed a bit forced, but I won’t say which; make up your own mind.

Overall, I would give this a good recommendation. There are no post credit scenes so turn out when they roll.

Flytrap rating: 7.5/10
