I will say that about this film; it is gorgeous. Bright colors, superb animation and great voicing from Cravalho and Johnson, this should have been a big notch in Disney’s belt.
However, the story is basic Disney fare, pretty standard by most standards. There is a lot of quippy dialog and some true belly-laughs throughout, but with a bare-bones plot and no real surprises, I felt pretty blah about the whole experience. And for a Disney musical, the songs were banal.
I cannot really recommend this one; if you must see it, go to a matinee and save some bucks. I did not see it in 3-D and did not notice anything that would have been spectacular enough to dim any of the colors. There is one, totally useless, post credit scene. I wasted my time waiting for it; don’t make the same mistake.
