The mutant formerly known as Wolverine putters around driving a limo for hire and taking care of Professor Xavier, who is in and out of his mind, aided by the doleful mutant Caliban. When they encounter little Laura, they are forced to up their game.
This is not a superhero move, more like a road movie with claws and guns and harsh language. Everyone is great, but a special call-out for Dafne Keen,
who is wonderful as the pint-sized femme fatale. Another nod to Stephen Merchant as Caliban,
a mutant I had forgotten about.
This is a very violent movie, so be warned; not a movie for kids. And it is a bit depressing at times, so know that going in. But after being burned by the first two Wolverine movies, this one finally came through. There are no post-credit scenes, so charge on out when they start rolling.
Flytrap rating: 8/10
