Batman, sensing trouble for some reason, travels the globe to assemble a team to protect the plant from a somewhat shallow villain.
So, this one is is lighter in tone than the Murderverse we’re used to from Snyder, and there are a lot of amusing and laugh out loud moments that do amuse (the Flash is hilarious). However, the pacing here is weird; they seem to jump from one spot to another rather abruptly. There are some grand battles and all of our heroes do come out grandly.
But everything from Snyder has this same look and it goes back to Suckerpunch. It’s the color of the sky and the way the heroes move; you’ll recognize it when you see it. That and a villain that has no more background than, “I want to destroy the world because that is what I do!” leave this a bit lacking in gravitas.
I’ll give this one a guarded recommendation. I did not see it in 3-D; I did not see how it would have improved the experience. There are two post-credit scenes, both worth waiting on.
