After a scuffle with some shape-changing alien Skrulls, the Warrior crashes to Earth, where she runs into S.H.I.E.L.D., in the person of Nick Fury. Along the way she learns about how she came to be what she is and how she fits into the universe.
If you want some action, space battles, and fisticuffery, you came to the right place. Larson becomes the hero we want to see and of course, Samuel L Jackson always has been. I was also very pleased with Lynch and Akver as the Rambeau’s and I really hope there will be more of them.
However, this movie suffers from a growing trend in a lot movies I’ve seen lately: Too much CGI, to the point where it becomes cartoonish. I wish they’d find another way to create these scenes. When I compare these space battles to, say, the first Star Wars trilogy, I find them lacking in dramatic effect.
I’ll recommend this one; you’ll have fun. I did not see it in 3-D and since they converted it, rather than film for it, I don’t see how there would be any gain.
It’s a Marvel movie, so of course there are extra scenes: An awesome mid-credits scene and a mildly amusing post-credit scene.
