When a group of Shining-sucking vampire-types start threatening a teenager, she and Danny make a connection and plan a defense.
I did not really have high hopes for this movie, but I happened to really like the novel, so I had to give it a chance and I’m really glad I did. Gripping, tense and scary, I lost myself in it, mesmerized by the story and the fantastic performances, especially by Ferguson and Curran. A robust score moves everything thrillingly along and the cinematography and special effects are perfect.
It does follow the book fairly faithfully until the final act, but the changes (to throwback to the film) did not detract from the narrative, so I bought into it.
I highly recommend this one, but I would not bring young kids; it would creep them out. No extra scenes after the credits start shining.
