I like to make a gallon of fresh lemonade at a time. It’s so good and good for you.
I’ve been doing it like this
for quite a while, but my old wrists needed a break. So I found this gadget on Amazon and I gotta say, I really like it. For the price (30 buck$), I don’t think you can beat it.
It comes with two cones. The smaller one I use for lemons and the larger is for oranges and grapefruit. I haven’t tried it on the latter yet; when I do I’ll update this article.
The advantages so far: It’s much quicker than that manual monstrosity that I used to use. AND, instead of needing 7 lemons to get enough juice, I now only need 5 and I usually end up with a little extra. It is very easy to clean, it does let the pulp through, and it catches all of the seeds. This is a win/win for me.
I only have a couple of very minor problems: The spout the juice flows out from needs to be a bit longer, as if I’m not careful, I’ll dribble juice all over the counter. But once I figured that out, I was able to compensate. The other very minor quibble is that it is supposed to reverse direction when you let off the pressure and it doesn’t necessarily do that; I have to keep trying a few times to trick it.
But all in all, I give this gizmo a 9/10. If you like your lemonade or fresh-squeezed orange juice, I’ll highly recommend the JuiceMan.
And here is my recipe for pink lemonade Give it a try; it’s pretty easy.
