After noticing a cloud that never moves and seeing what looks like an alien craft swoop out of the cloud, OJ and his sister decide they want to get the, “Oprah shot” of the UFO (or UAP, as you prefer), so they go to Fry’s and hook up with a technician who helps them install a surveillance system. Everything goes downhill from there.

This is often one tense and scary movie. One scene in particular gave me nightmares; you’ll probably know it when you see it. The special effects are, for once, not over the top and blinding. Kaluuya plays OJ very close, while Keke is just the opposite as Emerald. and Perea as the put-upon but relentless techie had me chuckling more than once; been there, done that.

Well, not THAT exactly.

The score knew when to drive and when to let off and I appreciated that. And props for referencing the Purple People Eater.

My only complaints were that one character turned into a meme by doing something outrageously stupid. I also wondered if some of the backstory was that necessary (the chimp). Oh well, no one asks me and maybe that’s for the best.

A highly recommend this one, but do NOT bring the kids; they’ll never sleep again. Are there any extra scenes after the credit roll?
NOPE.
