As the Guardians try desperately to unearth what they can about Rocket’s origins, the High Evolutionary — the sort of well-meaning schmuck the universe could do without — is trying to play with forces probably best left alone. And doing a shit job of it, I might add. You just know this will end up in a face-off (in more ways than one).

With the solid chemistry amongst the heroes and the frenetic, but tense elements to their quest, I will say this is the best Marvel Movie I’ve seen in a very long time. The scenery, the action and the (rather loud) score all work together very well. Seeing Rocket’s background engrossed me as much as the rest of the film and there were actually a few moments that seemed to make the film blurry. But I wasn’t crying — you were!

To my surprise and glee, Will Poulter made a stellar Adam Warlock!

I will give this a solid recommendation. There is some strong language, but I’ll bet your kids have heard it before. There is a nice mid-credits scene, then I waited for about 15 minutes more, with my bladder screaming at me, for the post-credits scene, which was a waste of time. Don’t wait for it. If you want to know what it entailed, email me and I’ll tell you.
