After foiling the illicit sale of a newly discovered mineral, Captain America (formerly the Falcon) with his new partner and Isaiah Bradley, are called to the White House, where the New President is announcing a new treaty to govern the mining of said mineral. Unbeknownst to all, there is a plot to turn the President into a monster and kill Captain America. Or something.

This movie is a mess. Is this a politcal thriller? A military action thriller? Spy movie? Who can tell? The plot is a meandering quagmire, the dialog is woodenly written, and hackneyed, and everything is played way too safe. Most of the action sequences are stale and unconvincing and the special effects are rather tepid for a Marvel movie.

Need I say more? Oh yeah, they seem to have fallen in love with the idea that they can say, “shit” as often as they like and still get a PG-13.

The Leader looks waaaay too much like Hector Hammond in the Green Lantern movie.

A bright spot is Shira Haas as a former Black Widow. I would hope to see more of her.

Not as bad as the Eternals (what is?), but still another low point for Marvel. There is a post-credit scene, but if you have to pee, don’t worry about missing it.
